Ranger frowned as he watched the conversation between Tekka and Koven. "Tekka, I-I..." Failing for words he sighed and tried again. "Tekka. What about Anyo, we cannot tear him away from you or Koven. It is not right for me to take that place, Or tear Koven away from you. My dear sister, Dante can learn the truth later on in life. He may not like you for keeping it from him but he will adjust, he is too young to be involved in this tangle of lives. And what happened between us was a desperate attempt to feel better, not to create a family, and I admit, it was definitely not the best choice I ever made but it gave us Dante, and I would rather he belong to you and Koven. For you to have a relationship, that is not supposed to be a brother and sister one. Tekka. Never forget, you are my sister, and Dante is my son, but you and Koven are meant to be, and Koven, although we share our differences, you are my brother, whether through blood, or by relationship I will lay my life down to make sure you are safe." He spoke, his voice soft, but wise beyond his years.
The black wolf was sure he was going to go grey early, he wasn't sure what he wanted but at the moment, keeping Koven from leaping over the edge was vital and making his sister happy was also what needed to be done. And as Tekka began to cry, his heart broke for the final time. A tear slipped down his muzzle and he nuzzled Tekka, "Tekka, I love you, and Dante. But what's best for you is Koven. And I think what's best for Dante is what's best for you." Ranger sighed and moved away from his sister, his heart ached to take her and Dante away from all of this, to protect her from anything and everything but this time. He couldn't, he couldn't do that to Koven, ever.
