Lyric came to a halt at the edge of the grassy field, It wasn't very different to the field that she and the other three wolves had met up in. But there was a major difference. There were two large herds of deer existing together in the field. The perfect meal for three adult wolves and a pup.
Altaria giggled and pounced into the long grass, She disappeared from view but appeared again by leaping up into the air and snapping playfully at a butterfly. She then wriggled back through the grass so she was next to Lyric and sat down. The two wolves sat side-by-side waiting for the others to catch up. White fur against black and orange eyes connected to blue as Lyric and Altaria turned to look at each other as they both heard or felt the other wolves approaching.

Aleta had accidentally fallen behind on their trek to the hunting grounds when she was distracted by a boulder. Normally, she would not stop for such silly things; only nuts and crazies talked to rocks, and she was perfectly sane. But this was a special rock; it talked to her, and was able to converse, unlike most other rocks. Aleta knew by experience that such speaking stones could hold immense wisdom, so she paused to hear what the boulder had to say. Unfortunately, some rocks are of a tricky sort, pretending to give useful information when in fact merely leading her astray on her spiritual quest. This prankster was particularly clever, but she'd dealt with the like before, and soon saw through its schemes. With a huff, she turned on her heel and walked the other way.
It was then that she remembered: oh, yes, hunting. She was supposed to be with her soul sister, and the funny pup, and the male acquaintance. Aleta streaked forward towards the hunting grounds, guided by her nose, as she desperately ran to catch up. So intent was she on gaining lost ground, that when she did catch up she forgot to stop. After all, catching up and stopping in order to be caught up are two entirely different thins. She overshot her intended halting place by several strides, skidding to a stop in front of the others. Aleta gracefully plonked herself down in the grass, and gazed serenely across the meadows. "Oh. Look. Deer," she said, with an air of vague surprise. How pleasant, to see deer here.

Kole ran, trying to remember which way they went. He looked for tracks in the snow. He ran after Aleta's tracks. He saya boulder, and stopped, his short attention span, turning toward the big rock. He shook his head out of the trance he was in and tried to remember what he was doing. Oh, right. Following Aleta's tracks.
He ran, seeing the white and black wolves in the distance. He sat down beside Altairia, and looked at them. He was going to try to keep his secret for a while.. As long as he can. "Sorry I am-" Kole tried to say, but he got distracted by the deer. He snuck into a bush, and crawled as close as he could, and pounced. He took down a buck, and bit into his neck. All the does around him, stood there watching, then a fawn walked up to him. Kole looked into his eyes, and said, run along now. And it seemed to work, because they ran off. Kole lugged the buck over to the others.

Altaria giggled as Aleta skidded to a halt in front of them and then gracefully plonked herself down in the grass. Her ears flicked and she turned her little onyx head to watch as Kole trotted in to the field after Aleta. He began to apologize but was distracted by the deer and rather quickly slayed one.
Lyric smiled as their friends followed them to the field, She watched as Kole moved in a fluid lope and quickly and painlessly killed the buck. "Thank you Kole." She quickly made her way over to the buck and began to tear off strips of meat and flesh for the others. The white wolfess placed a smaller piece near Altaria and then gave two larger pieces to Kole and Aleta before tearing a strip for herself and beginning to eat.
Altaria shot Lyric a sweet smile before lying down with her piece between her paws and tearing off little chunks so she could eat it without too much trouble. They ate in silence the only sounds were chewing and swallowing, And every so often the crunch of a small bone.

Aleta calmly accepted the proffered hunk of deerflesh. Setting it down a short distance away from the others, she nibbled daintily at it, making small toothmarks in the meat which was still warm with recent life. Perhaps there were individual cells in this mass, still expending energy and synthesizing proteins. She could practically hear them: Don't eat us, big strong she-wolf, we want to live! The white wolf pricked her ears, staring at the food intently. Then she barked a laugh. Hah! Mine now. Your body is gone, and you can't feel pain anyway. You don't even have thoughts, just chemical impulses. I will eat you if I like; my cells will eat your cells. Little cannibals.
Aleta tore into the meat, strong jaws gnawing at it and slowly shredding it into manageable pieces. There was a flash of movement out of the corner of her eye; glancing up, she spotted a large, blunt-beaked raven fluttering to the ground. It hopped closer, beady black eye flicking from the raw meat to the wolf, and then back to the meat. Aleta bared her teeth in an audible snarl, crouching low across her meal protectively. Mine. Get away! Jumping forward, she snapped her jaws at the scavenging bird, and it promptly flew off, producing a cacaphony of offended caws. She glared at it sullenly, before turning towards her food again. The snowy white fur around her muzzle was streaked crimson with blood, as she dug into the meat once more.

Kole scarfed down piece by piece of the buck. He eyed the other three wolves as they contently ate their share of the meal. He especially watched Lyric. She was a very peculiar wolf. He liked that about her.
After letting the food in his stomach digest, Kole heard a rustle in the bushes. He went quietly to investigate. As he quietly walked near the bushes, a barrell of a gun game out. And it was pointed at Aleta. Kole quickly pounced on the human and bite him in the arm. He didn't want to kill him, just scare him off and remind him who rules the territory. The man took his gun, and shot Kole near the shoulder area. He yelped in pain. He decided that this man was not going to go away on his own, so he bit into his neck. He heard the man scream out in pain. He closed his eyes, and lied limp in the bushes.
Kole walked out limping. He heaved a great sigh and said,"I'll be fine. Just another human."

Lyric pulled her ears back against her head as she heard a gun shot and Kole yelp in pain, "Kole, Are you sure you're okay?" She asked him, Running over to check over the male. She swallowed nervously as she sat down next to him and examined his shoulder. She peered at the wound but luckily the bullet was loose and a twitch from Kole had the bullet out. The white she-wolf sighed and nuzzled Kole's muzzle, "Be more careful next time." She told him, staring at him before breaking off their gaze and looking away.
Altaria snarled at one of the scavenging birds as it hopped too close, Her orange eyes glowered in to beady black ones and the bird fluttered back ward a couple of steps. The young pup shook her head and nomed on the rest of her meat before finishing up and lying down slightly nearer Aleta. The younger wolf nibbled on her paws as she cleaned off the excess blood and other juices.

Aleta lifted her head in mild befuddlement as a human threatened them, before being fended off by Kole. She stared at the space in the shrubbery for a moment, giving only a brief glance to the brave male who had risked his life to save her. Then she closed her eyes and began a monotone hum deep in her throat. Funky colors swirled behind her eyelids; she was searching for the human's soul. Souls were useful things to have, and the more she managed to collect, the stronger her powers would become (or at least, the more convinced the crazy she-wolf would be that she had any powers at all). But then she sighed, and opened her eyes again with a dejected expression. The soul had already run off. Too bad... she hadn't ever captured a human soul before. Just mice and deer and other dull creatures like that.
